Get Off the Emotional Rollercoaster with RTT

Are you feeling out of sorts? Not yourself? Does irritability, anger or anxiety sweep over you for no apparent reason? Are you losing confidence in yourself and your abilities? Have you lost interest in your partner? Are you beginning to doubt whether you can carry on with your job or even aspects of your personal life as you go through this stage of life?

These are all typical peri-menopausal or menopausal symptoms. Many of us who have had busy lives as career women and/or parents have pushed the thought of the menopause to the back of our minds. If you were like me you probably haven’t researched it or prepared for it at all and only have to deal with the impact once it hits you. You might be torn between HRT and natural remedies, you might be frustrated by the patchy and inconsistent information available about how to deal with this new phase of your life.

The menopause is a perfectly natural transition for women but for many that does not mean it is an easy transition. There can be a myriad of physical symptoms to deal with such as hot flushes, weight gain, aching joints, tiredness and thinning hair. Many women also experience emotional symptoms which include irritability, sadness, anxiety, lost confidence as well as forgetfulness, confusion and “brain fog”. The good news is that it won’t go on forever and our bodies do know how to rebalance and adjust to the roller coaster of hormone changes. Life after the menopause can be better than ever with many women reporting new found independence and inner strength.

A few generations ago any women who struggled with the menopause would have done this just with the support of family and friends or in silence at home. Now, far more women are working demanding full time jobs and have to deal with their symptoms in a more public arena. Surveys have found that women often find this difficult but also find it difficult to speak to their team mates and managers. Many have to take sick leave and even consider reducing hours or even giving up their jobs.

A study in 2015  suggested that of all the alternative treatments available – from herbal supplements such as black cohosh to acupuncture – hypnosis is almost uniquely effective in alleviating symptoms of the menopause.

This focused mainly on the physical symptoms but I and my RTT colleagues have also successfully helped many women overcome the emotional symptoms too. This in itself is a great relief and helps to remove the feelings of panic and anxiety as well as rebuild confidence and self esteem

Once we have done this I can also teach you self-hypnosis so you can work on any new issues which arise as you go through this journey.

You’ll regain your confidence and self-love and feel able to deal with the curved balls and challenges which life sends your way. Now, that is a great way to feel at any stage of life!
